Time yields a subtle clearness
to things wished forgotten
as hope builds in utter stillness
Do you remember contact with me?

And then it came to me
this abject understanding
that you waited for me

I have learned things
I have changed
I have forgotten things
I have changed

As reams of experience
form the fabric of our lives
the communal interaction
for which we all strive
has been pruned from a sick society
and we have changed
emotional improprieties
our imperatives rearranged

We are a species estranged
without a Trace of Contact

And then it came to me
abject understanding
that you waited for me

The world is flowing at pandemic speed
and we don't know what to believe
Opinions expressed are as bending reeds
for those willing to be deceived

Vacant rooms feel larger in darkness
just as solitude exaggerates loneliness
This volume of Reality unfolding
a rupture leaking emptiness and longing

It is the fear known to all things alone

We have but one chance
We have learned and we have changed
Through the viral happenstance of separation
we are tamed
but are we truly SAVED?

I am no angel
not your savior
but I can read the signs
Quarantines and isolation
conspiracies for weak minds
A Social Distancing nightmare
never so deprived
Is there anybody out there
Everyone hiding alone inside?

we wear the MASK of the age
concealing conciliatory RAGE
intellect encaged
an endgame engaged

Blameless, I
forgo pride
striving to persist

Alone and confined
a prisoner despite
all of you I miss
(and I fear)

no ANGEL am I
no DEVIL Inside
like the VIRUS, I resist
(it is clear)

Have no fear
I AM here
