(Dropping the World) “Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.” Isaiah 48:10 – Holly Bible There’s a war on the trade winds As economies are blown away Safe at home as it happen In a scary place so far away There is no time for discussion For debating culpability Framing the extent of destruction On a canvas of nuclear nihility But then it all comes down… After action reaction The world debates our deeds As the media creams Such a charming distraction Death in Hi-Def TiVo’ed on wide screen Mortal men are falling “The Americans are here now!” We have never claimed to be Saviors of the whole world, you see Although it seems we have to be When the world is falling down around you And the wolf is at the door As you hide, we hit the ground And pound the enemy and go to war It takes boots on the sand… It’s the latest infraction A call to arms in the wake Of another catastrophe There is no peace thru inaction In a world of colliding ideologies All the world is calling The evidence is clear now We have never claimed to be Saviors of the whole world, you see Although it seems we have to be “Thus far shalt thou go and No further…” – Thomas Paine GOD BLESS AMERICA As Pariahs dance in the oil fields We send greetings from the Promised Land GOD BLESS AMERICA Peace is not a miracle America has shed her blood for you GOD BLESS AMERICA Another terrorist bastion Defines themselves as martyrs Wielding Allah’s Sword We are at war with the factions Leaving IEDs on the step of Heaven’s door GOD BLESS AMERICA GOD BLESS AMERICA

“Don’t! That would be unwise.” This is the church and this is the steeple The pentacle of wealth and blame Open the doors and lure all the people And promise to explain Framed by the portent of abject derision My function is clear to behold “So sayeth angelic machines…” I will not relent thru insipid indecision Or reiterate the histories of old “They have many means…” They hummed seraphim songs By the caves at night Awaiting their winged lovers “Wait; Desensitize …” This is the church and this is the steeple Open the doors and lure all the people Free us from pain, from love, and evil And turn us not unto things so unbelievable Spooky actions at a distance A Force beyond our own resistance Feel the lure of smooth insistence Pulling us toward non-existence “Entropy sucks…” The crass consternation of truth fabrication Will staunch believability Lurid fascination of protracted indignation Will haunt conceivability Whatever will be will be Or never ever be again That much is certain “But wait, there’s more…” There burns a church and there a fallen steeple Rotting in the ash of Gahanna’s Garden There goes a witch and there goes a reaper Golems on the walls again Travesties to recreate To help us get our souls whipped into shape Would-be prophets speculate On states that give God cause to hesitate Oh… at last! You come full circle . . . As in those last days When we were so young Apprehensions drifted away As if we had never begun Seared in the light of foreshadowing dreams Fate is ruthless and seldom pleased No ending could ever justify these means And we are the sum of our deeds “Too late, there is nothing more…” I am the foundry, the forge of creation The anvil of God at my knees And look what I see: All this I’ve done without a moment’s hesitation As he hath done unto us as he pleased But, alas, we are free in my sesquipedalian dream...

Coveted 02:30
They coveted our talent Our chancing glance with god They coveted our talent And nothing was left untouched We began to ingest again They coveted our talent To fly in the gardens of the demigods They coveted our talent Our descent into the universal mind again They coveted our talent Vectors trace to near earth orbit They coveted our talent Trajectories holding in time We began to count again They coveted our talent And reveled with empowerment They coveted our talent Extinction Level Event again They coveted our talent Relent unto the mind of god today Lest He forgot that we were here? Go now? Or wait another day? Just go now. here we go.. here we go… Just let go….. into the flow……. here we go………..

There was a time when we were young And everything was new We believed what we were told What else were we to do? A promise to always be there To help us see it through Radar silence! We are truly alone in the cosmos Drink this fake wine from this cup To take away all of your strife Place this bread upon your tongue And it will surely change The course of your life I placed the thorns upon my head And I could feel the pain as my own Don’t eat this particular kind of meat Or your soul will burn away Say these words in just this way And you will live to pray another day And so I do all of these things But nothing ever seems to change Patiently, I’m waiting for a sign But my prayers seem out of range There’s nothing there And I feel the same as before They are willing to share In the blame and nothing more I remember eulogies About how I was wrong And the Host is so hard to please Angels beware! We’ve been baptized in madness Covering our hair to hide our beauty Not our sadness Waiting again For my precious fallible gods To alter the end Because I cannot do this again Atonement begins When my precious fallible gods Begin to rescind Unanswered prayers on a whim Wear these robes Cover your hair Horny angels, oh beware! Sing this simple poetry To reserve your place in a Holy lair I placed the stones upon my crown And I felt no pleasure from pain You can take this all on faith “The end of the world is near!” Prophets tax the truth and wait To reap the dividends of fear Blessed meanings rearranged Are the Heavenly transceivers down again? Feeling old and feeling strange Perhaps I cannot afford a Lord now I stretch out my hands And I can feel the power of suggestion By Physics or Man Is it a sin to pose a question? Down on our knees Begging forgiveness Anything to appease It is all mystery Buried in so many translations But I have seen the evidence Of monetary incantations “Can you spare some change for God?” There are times when I’m alone And without the production With all the rhetoric stored away In total reduction mode I find a peace of mind I can feel order behind it all And there is Truth Even reverence For all things real and all things unseen When all the scriptures and the fanfare Are set in their place Only then, the evidence abounds And there is Grace Desperate flair cannot compar To love ensnared by the fringe of eternity There was a time when we were young And everything was new We believed what we were told What else were we to do? A promise to always be there To help us see it through Radar silence! We are truly alone in the cosmos The wages of sin Per my precious fallible gods Is facing the end With nothing changed within So I am calling again On my precious fallible gods For resurrection will mend Just about anything This nightmare will end When my precious fallible gods Stop preaching the end But I just can’t fathom when No answer again From my precious fallible gods My resurrection friends Have fallen asleep again I’m forced to contend With my precious fallible gods And I’ve learned to pretend Because nothing in real “Let’s begin…” This might be the end For my precious fallible gods The only question is when So I close my eyes “Amen. “

I remember this… A cold remark and it washes this away There it is again, the falsity, the stain And it leads me away from this… It clings to the underside Of petulance and shame But I have never been more focused I have never been this sane And it led me to here… This fragile structure Has congealed around our lives And framed grand mysteries With ignorance and lies It feels like I’ve been here before… Can we differentiate Our accomplishments from loss? Can we ever bear a truth Bereft of all we sought? I’m staking fables to the wall… In fine entanglements We shape compelling social knots With brief integrity That nature never wrought Then we flutter away… Never been this close So captured by the end of things I can’t seem to let them go Now nothing else remains So enchanting and vain… MEMORY is a cruel device Pertinacious and callow EMOTION is a lie in disguise Impetuous and fallow LIFE is a cold trial Impersonal and trite And TIME is a bitch We have lost our way… And now by all I know I have never found a way To frame my disbelief Into this picture perfect day If I had spoken Would it have changed it all for me? Am I broken? Am I far too gone For any sane decree to mend? It’s all fading away Gaining in gray A turbulent display Nothing left to say I cannot recall now What it was that I had But I feel like I’ve been here before Someone had told me there was more I don’t believe them anymore And then I wonder Is there time left for me Why bother If there is nothing more to see I can not believe that this is the end… This can not be the end… Everyone pretends… Don’t let this end…

I pray thee Wash this from me Or take your leave My deity reprieved Don’t forsake me I have so much more to offer Your legends, they fascinate me But they cannot all be true Nothing is ever quite as enticing As the promise of complete acceptance In our hunger we need reminding We have gorged on finer things Warmed by futile eloquence The meaning is mistaken Lift us up and we are gracious Then turn away and forsake us Even as we discovered We lost our way Time was a splendid temptress But then nothing ever changed Creatures of our own inception Are feeding toward nihility Gleaming eyes of kind deception Edging from civility Against your best, we stand And in the image of Man We redefine our makers This feels real It is something to believe But I will not kneel You are not that far beyond me Forged in puerile sufferance And laced with calming eloquence The books we thought Were Heaven sent Were monsters in the making Why is this happening? How can this happen If there is order above? We fled from our ignorance Glowing with confidence Armored with reason and love We set to improve our condition Of fiction and pledged Ourselves to resolve All the mysteries awaiting us Science had displayed for us Nothing unnatural at all But then we fell Off the edge of the world And there be dragons If you believe in nothing Then you have nothing much to lose Experiments culminating in ourselves Improving Heaven just to spite Hell From knowing heights to here, we fell We were Monsters in the Making Frail as whispers taunting you With the hope of a different outcome Insanity repeats The pleas to tease out Monsters in the making The loving lie we need to hear “It’s all right, my dear.” Embellishing our history With monsters of our making
